Yes, I can admit that there are other virtual truckers, like yourself, who like the same general game preferences as you. If you could admit there are players like me (and I guess I'm not alone) you would probably understand why SCS opted to do what they did and why they did not focus on things that some people (like me and those like me) may find totally unimportant. Everything else is just a garbage in my opinion and I don't miss it at all. And then when I park my vehicle before turning off the game I observe it from outside for a few seconds - so, yes, the truck model is also quite important. Roads, cities, complex crossings, scenery views, oncoming traffic, AI behaving as much naturally as possible, obstacles around parking lots, weather, sun ray effects in the morning and evening, etc. So, for me it's only what you can see from inside the cabin what really counts. But there's only very few of them about driving (I mean non-race driving). I believe there are many other games out there about decorating houses, managing drivers and things like that. I don't spend more time there than absolutely necessary. Honestly, it has never even come on my mind to try to modify it. And I couldn't have cared less about how my garage looks like. I don't care whether the trailer behind me belongs to the company or to me. Why? Because I'm spending perhaps 95% time in cab view and I'M DRIVING. I heard somebody complaining about tubes not connected to trailer, no smoke coming from pipes. And then, little, just very little it is about the vehicle I'm (virtually) sitting in. Yes, from my point of view it's all about driving from A to B. For me, it's "driving" what appeals me most on this kind of games. But I don't quite understand your priorities. Unknown Februat I appreciate your fairness - you are defending your ideas without slipping into rough talk, thumb up, man. And you don't seem to have any interest in having the game be anything else accept pretty to look at. The game just doesn't consist of anything. However, I have already decided whether or not I will be buying the game. This is why I accuse you of designing a game that is “all graphics and no gameplay”. At best you raise the fines in the game to slow us down from achieving income. You don't even add things to the game for us to spend our money on. Can't see our vehicles parked in your garages or yards. You can't get out of the vehicle and walk around. But you won't let us manage those drivers. But you won't give us the ability to customize those garages.Ĭ)You give us a game where a main focus is to hire drivers. But you won't give us the ability to purchase our own trailers.ī) You give us a game where a main focus is to purchase dozens of garages. But ETS2, and ATS deserves more than just a solitaire type gameplay.Ī) You give us a game where a main focus is to deliver trailers. I know there are a lot of people who really should just stick to solitaire, and that's fine. Sorry, but, unfortunately I don't agree with your decision to have the game be designed for those people who lack the ability to multitask. I'm sure you noticed my constant complaints about the game. Their not in your control, and you can only do so much when constantly having to wait for companies to finally make up their mind. I completely understand about the licenses. Having a demo to depend on is always a great asset.Īs for the trucks. There's always the chance of new people in the future being unsure of whether or not to buy the game. I'm not sure if it should be just for a limited time though. The “demo” is a great idea that will help a lot of people make that final decision.

I also applied Lightroom’s lens-profile corrections. In the shot above, the left shows the image in Lightroom, with enough noise reduction applied to approximate the level of noise in the same image run through DxO PureRAW on the right. Compare the same image after applying noise reduction and Auto Tone in Lightroom (left) and DxO PureRAW (right). You can see that in the clouds in the background below. DxO reps told me that PureRAW improves bokeh as well, which cameras tend to add graininess to. With other software, when you sharpen an image after reducing its noise, you often end up sharpening what should be a blurry background, something you really don’t want. Noise reduction from Adobe and other software developers usually blurs photos a bit. How Well Does DxO PureRAW Work?ĭxO’s noise reduction does a much better job than most of the competition when it comes to keeping details sharp while eliminating speckles. A dialog box pops up that gives you the choice once processing completes, as shown below. The other option besides using this view, and probably the one that makes the most sense, is to export the image(s) to your photo workflow application of choice. As you can see in our test photos, the app produces remarkable, dramatic improvements. The left side shows the unoptimized image, while the right side displays the processed one. CR2 shot through the utility resulted in a 102MB DNG file.Īfter you put images through PureRAW’s magic, you can view them full size with a before-and-after split screen. One downside is that file sizes balloon after PureRAW processing. CR3 and raw files from Nikon’s mirrorless Z 6 cameras, as well as with longtime standbys like the Canon EOS 6D or T1i. The software had no trouble working with newer formats like Canon’s. If you just want the improved image and don’t plan on further editing, the JPG option is for you. The latter makes sense if you’re going to continue adjusting the photo in Lightroom or another photo app. You also choose whether you want the output to be in JPG or DNG (Adobe’s universal raw file format). The last is the default, and it's your best option because it combines the speed of HQ with even better results than Prime, thanks to its machine-learning tech. You can choose from DxO’s three noise-reduction technologies: HQ, Prime, and DeepPrime. Alternatively, you can select images from a folder in File Explorer or Finder. It’s mostly a blank panel onto which you drag and drop the photos you want to process. Since it’s more of a utility than a full workflow or editing application, DxO PureRAW sports a remarkably simple interface. It also offers sample raw image file downloads you can use to test the program. When you first run PureRAW, you see helpful instructions on what it does, how to use it, and how to integrate it into your photo workflow. A decent GPU is recommended but not required. I ran it on an Intel Core i7-based PC running Windows 11 and on a MacBook Air with an Apple Silicon M1 processor. You need at least an Intel Core i5 on Macs, a Core 2 or higher on Windows, and at least 4GB RAM on either. The software runs on macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later and 64-bit Windows 10 Version 1809 or later, or Windows 11. I couldn’t find any recent Lightroom market share studies, but judging by informal surveys at photo trade shows and elsewhere in the industry, it seems safe to say that the vast majority of photographers who shoot raw camera files use Lightroom Classic. The only problem is that, if you use PureRAW, you still must pay for another program like Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop, though there are viable lower-cost photo workflow software options like ACDSee Photo Studio, Corel PaintShop Pro, CyberLink Photodirector, and Skylum Luminar Neo. That’s a good savings over DxO’s main photo software, PhotoLab, which costs $219 for the version with all the advanced enhancements in PureRAW, such as DeepPrime noise reduction. It's a one-time cost for a permanent license-no subscription required. DxO PureRAW 2 costs $129, discounted to $79 for purchasers of Version 1. first, press the ALT-key on your keyboard and a button marked “Detect Displays” appears where the “Gather Windows”-button used to be click on it when it appears.select the Display Preference window that has 3 tabs on it marked “Display”, “Arrangement” and “Color” (not the window that has “Display” and “Color” only).then you will see 2 Display Preference windows on your MacBook screen.if there is a “Gather Windows” button, click on it.If this works, you’re good, if not, try Remedy #5 if there is no “Gather Windows” button, press the ALT-key on your keyboard and a button marked “Detect Displays” appears click on it when it appears.in the Display Preferences window, see if there is a button marked “Gather Windows” bottom right.in the System Preferences window, select “Displays”.on your MacBook, open Apple –> System Preferences. Wed at 8pm, Amie Kaufman Author of Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle, #1). At the same time, the songs tended to actually be more repetitive. “The average just started creeping up and up and up and just got longer and longer. “If you go back to the Beatles’ early records in the ’60s, the average pop song was two minutes long,” Rosin says. In 2020, data researchers at UCLA found that the mean duration of songs was approaching the lowest it had been since 1930. A 2018 study of Billboard Hot 100 hits found that the duration of hit songs had been falling for most of the 2010s. Larry Rosin, president of the audio-focused market research firm Edison Research, relates the latest sped-up trend to pop culture’s overall inclination toward shorter songs in recent years. 2” borrow elements from experimental pop. These movements are now more mainstream than ever hyperpop duo 100 Gecs recently charted on the Billboard 200 with their major-label debut album, and hit songs like PinkPantheress and Ice Spice’s “Boy’s a Liar Pt. But the current iteration of sped-up songs is specifically arriving at the crossroads of the “slowed + reverb” phenomenon (which itself was inspired by chopped-and-screwed music) and hyperpop (the kinetic and often abrasive genre pioneered by Sophie and PC Music). “It’s more of whatever they say goes, and it’s about how you respond to it.”īut what’s with the need for speed, anyway? The concept of speeding songs up is not new-chipmunk soul and nightcore have long existed, as have pitched-up vocals. “It’s just too late in the game to be questioning Gen Z or questioning TikTok,” she says. Spotify, The Ringer’s parent company, has an official “sped up songs” playlist with 100 songs and 1.4 million likes.Īmber Grimes, executive vice president and general manager of the record label LVRN, which represents Walker, says that social media trends are just another aspect of the music industry now. In late 2022, R&B breakthrough Summer Walker put out a sped-up version of her 2018 mixtape, Last Day of Summer, after a few of the remixed songs popped off on TikTok. In January, SZA released a remix pack for her hit “Kill Bill” that included a sped-up version. Regardless, these remixes are spreading their reach beyond TikTok and into record labels, pop radio, and the Billboard charts. Maybe it was uploaded by an anonymous TikTok account. Maybe it’s a sped-up remix that the original artist released themselves. Let Steve Lacy’s helium voice guide you through a video about “celebrities who didn’t let fame change them.” Maybe it’s a new song that got the sped-up treatment. Perhaps you’ve encountered this trend in the wild: You might notice a sped-up song accompanying a DIY craft video or a makeup experiment. It was a new peak for the single-and was tied for the highest peak of any song of Miguel’s career.Īll because someone thought it would be cool if Miguel sounded more like a chipmunk than, well, Miguel. But listeners responded: first on TikTok, then on streaming platforms, then on the charts. On the surface, it’s the same song, just faster, complete with Miguel’s croon pitched up to a helium tone. In Miguel’s case, the sped-up remix bumped “Sure Thing” from 81 to 105 bpm and became a wildly popular audio on TikTok. Think of it in comparison to watching Netflix or listening to audiobooks at 1.25x playback speed. But “Sure Thing” got a massive boost because of one of pop music’s latest big trends: the sped-up remix, one that simply takes the original song and makes it faster, adding little-and sometimes nothing-else. That may not seem like a novel occurrence after songs by Fleetwood Mac and Kate Bush have found new lives in recent years, and it’s no secret that TikTok virality is the hottest ticket to a hit single. That is, until something curious happened: It reentered the charts, 12-plus years after its original release. With love-conquers-all lyrics over a mid-tempo beat and sparse electric guitar, the song was bound to pop up at the odd wedding or on playlists exchanged between Tinder matches, but ultimately it seemed to have run its course. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the months after its release. The 2010 single from his debut album, All I Want Is You, topped out at no. Miguel’s “Sure Thing” was destined to be a cult hit. This is where having a dedicated app for mapping is great: cmdr is using that same screen estate to show all our mappings and navigate between them with ease. This is not very intuitive layout, but NI had to deal with it this way because all other categories take up a lot of space on the left side of the Preferences window. Once you set the correct path to your Traktor Settings file (typically User/Documents/TraktorVersion/TraktorSettings.tsi), the software will be able to tell the order in which each individual effect is registered in Traktor and it will then let you map all effects with that same order. This is where you tell cmdr where to look for your TraktorSettings.tsi file – a very important step if you want to directly map the effects, because the effect list is unique to your Traktor setup based on what effects you have loaded.
